Rental Agreement

Instrument Rental Agreement

  1. The instrument shall remain the property of Beau Vinci Violins, LLC. (BVV) throughout the rental period.

  2. Schedule of monthly fees:

Violins: ……………………………………………..$25.00 + $1.75 sales tax (7%) = $26.75

Violas: ……………………………………………..$30.00 + $2.10 sales tax (7%) = $32.10

Cellos: ……………………………………………..$45.00 + $3.15 sales tax (7%) = $48.15

The rental fee for the remainder of the month in which the agreement is signed is due at the release of the instrument. Rates shall be pro-rated:

  • a full month’s rental if during the 1st week (days 1-7)

  • ¾ of a month’s rental if during the 2nd week (days 8-14)

  • ½ of a month’s rental if during the 3rd week (days 15-21)

  • ¼ of a month’s rental if during the 4th week (days 22-end of month)

3. A security deposit of $100.00 for violins, $150.00 for violas, and $200 for cellos is due at the time of rental. Beau Vinci Violins will refund this deposit in the form of a check to the customer at the termination of the rental contract provided the instrument is in suitable condition (see No. 9 below).

4. Two valid credit/debit cards must be on file at BVV at all times, without exception.

5. All payments subsequent to the initial payment are due the 1st of every month. Payment is accepted by credit/debit card (to be debited on the 1st of the month or the first business day thereafter). Payments not received by the 7th of the month will be automatically deducted from the customer’s account and will be assessed an additional $10.00 late fee.

6. Non-collection of funds will result in immediate confiscation of the instrument, without exception, and all monies paid to date will be forfeited.

7. In the event that the customer wishes to trade in the instrument for a larger size, payments will continue under the same rental agreement. Any damage charges due on the instrument being traded in must be collected before the new instrument is issued.

8. The customer may terminate the rental contract at any time without further obligation provided the instrument is returned in suitable condition (see No. 9 below).

9. Suitable condition shall mean that the instrument has all of its essential parts and is free from cracks, breaks, or cosmetic damage. Small nicks and dings shall be deemed as acceptable normal wear at the discretion of Beau Vinci Violins.

10. Insurance is included in the rental agreement. The insurance will cover any and all accidental damage to the instrument; damages which BVV deems to be intentional or due to negligence will not be covered. Replacement strings are also included (upgraded strings are not). In the event of total loss of the instrument (repair costs would exceed the replacement cost of the instrument) due to fire, theft, or damage, the security deposit shall be used to defray our cost to replace the instrument. In the event of a fire or theft, BVV would require evidence in the form of a fire marshall’s report, police report, or a report issued by a school official. The customer would be free of any further liability.

11. Should the customer wish to purchase a BVV inventory instrument after the return of the rental instrument, a portion of the rental fees may be applied toward the purchase price:

  • 6 months of rental fees toward instruments priced $400 to $800

  • 12 months of rental fees toward instruments priced above $800
